MICROBARREL

I am a 4th generation Napa Valley native with 30 years in the barrel industry.

There are six true white oaks in the USA. There are hundreds of hybrids and many other species of oak that would seem to work for spirits, although they do not. The white oak I use is either bought from industry friends of mine or I harvest it myself. This guarantees that it is not material from used larger format barrels or old oak products like pallets, which can have anti-mold, stain and pest chemicals.
